How to get tickets (and when they go on sale)
Tickets are sold only on Asoview!, a Japanese ticketing site. They go on sale on the 15th of each month at 12:00 noon Japan time (JST, UTC+9) for all dates two months ahead, first come, first served (on Oct 15 you can book December).
- If the 15th falls on a weekend or a Japanese holiday, sales move to the last weekday before it.
- Based on this rule, December 2026 tickets should go on sale on Thursday, Oct 15 at 12:00 JST. In the US that is Wednesday, Oct 14 at 11:00 PM Eastern / 8:00 PM Pacific. January 2027 tickets should follow on Friday, Nov 13 (the 15th is a Sunday).
- Up to 5 tickets per account, so one purchase can cover your whole group. Tickets cannot be canceled or changed after purchase.
- The person who bought the tickets shows the QR code at the entrance, and the whole group enters together. If you arrive after your time slot, you may not be let in.
- The official site has no English page and does not mention a separate sales channel for overseas visitors (as of Oct 8, 2026). We have not confirmed whether overseas phone numbers or cards work on Asoview!, so check Asoview! itself before the sale day.
Ticket prices
Adults (12 and over) ¥3,500, students ¥2,800, children (4–11) ¥1,800, tax included.
- Children under 4 are free and need no ticket (one child per adult or student ticket).
- A 12-year-old who is still in elementary school pays the child price.
- Prices for people with disabilities: adults ¥2,500, children ¥1,300 (for the holder and one companion).
- The student price is for students of junior high schools, high schools, universities, graduate schools, junior colleges and vocational schools. Student and disability prices need proof at the entrance.
- Children of elementary school age or younger cannot enter alone; they must come with someone holding an adult or student ticket (junior high school age or older).
Same-day tickets
Same-day tickets are also sold only on Asoview! and are currently not sold at the door. The official top page has a box labeled 「当日券販売状況」 (same-day ticket status) that shows whether any are left.
- When we checked on Oct 8, 2026, it said 「完売」 (sold out). Plan to book ahead rather than count on same-day tickets.
What to bring: a smartphone and a card
Bring a smartphone with mobile data. Your ticket and some experiences are shown on the Asoview! website or app, and the official FAQ says a smartphone is required. The official visitor guide also says that without one, you should print your QR code and purchase details in advance.
- The park is cashless only. Accepted: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and UnionPay cards; Japanese transit IC cards and e-money; and QR payments including Alipay+, WeChat Pay and UnionPay.
- Strollers cannot be taken inside; the official site says folded strollers can be left with staff for the visit. The park has no coin lockers, so use lockers nearby for large bags.
- Re-entry is generally not allowed. If the restrooms are crowded or there is an emergency, ask a staff member.
- Some shows cannot be filmed or recorded, flash is not allowed in some areas, and please don’t photograph staff without asking.
How long to stay
The official site gives no time guide. Across 12 Japanese visitor reports we collected, the median stay was 2 hours (shortest about 1.5 hours, longest about 3 hours).
- Last entry is 17:40 and the park closes at 19:00, so enter by 17:00 if you want 2 hours, or by 16:00 for 3 hours.
- Chiifan has not visited the park itself; these numbers come from published visitor reports, most written before the hours were shortened on Sept 1, 2026.
Getting there and finding the entrance
You cannot enter Chiikawa Park from street level. From Ikebukuro Station East Exit 35, walk along Sunshine 60 Street, take the escalator down at the Sunshine City underground entrance next to Nitori, and follow the passage to the Annex B1F entrance.
- Ikebukuro Station (JR, Tokyo Metro, Seibu, Tobu): about 8 minutes on foot from East Exit 35 to Sunshine City.
- Higashi-Ikebukuro Station (Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line): about 3 minutes through the underground passage from Exits 6 and 7.
- Higashi-Ikebukuro-yonchome stop (Toden Arakawa Line / Tokyo Sakura Tram): about 4 minutes on foot.
- Walking times are to Sunshine City; allow extra time to get through the building. There is no parking for the park.
Goods and souvenirs
The goods (merch) shop is inside the park, so you need a ticket to shop there. There are many park-only items, and some products may have purchase limits.
- Since May 8, 2026, some park goods are also sold on the official online store Chiikawa Market. Online stock is not always the same as the shop in the park.
