Usagi: the fearless friend who shouts (voice, birthday, the floppy-ear episode)
Based on Chiifan’s Japanese character article, which checks the official anime and movie character pages. Translated on Oct 11, 2026.
Usagi is the cream-colored one with long ears, the third of the trio with Chiikawa and Hachiware. Usagi barely says a word, just short, loud shouts, yet often races ahead when the other two freeze. The official profiles are short, so most of what fans love about Usagi comes from the scenes themselves. Here is what is confirmed, the episodes with Usagi in the title, and the 17 arcs to read.
- Name
- Usagi (うさぎ), the Japanese word for rabbit; “Tokki” in the Korean dub
- Anime voice
- 小澤亜李 (Ari Ozawa), Japanese anime and movie
- Birthday
- January 22
- Usagi in the title
- Ep. 20, 55, 66, 319, 320 (as of Oct 2026)
- Story arcs
- Appears in 17 of the 20 arcs collected on Chiifan
What kind of character is Usagi?
The anime page: Chiikawa’s friend who often shouts loudly, things like “Ura!” and “Yaha!”. The movie page: fearless and always full of energy, and nobody knows where Usagi lives.
- Fans often see Usagi as strong, but neither profile actually uses the word “strong.” That impression comes from the scenes.
- Usagi travels with the other two through the Siren Arc (Island Arc), the longest story and the basis of the 2026 movie. The reading page is in Japanese, but you only need to scroll: Nagano’s X posts are lined up from top to bottom in order, 10 per page, and the 「次のページ」 (Next page) button at the bottom takes you on.
- New to Chiikawa? If you saw the movie, start with the Siren Arc; for a quick taste, try the Muchauman Arc (10 posts).
When did Usagi first appear?
No date for Usagi’s first drawing has been given anywhere. What we can say is that Usagi was already around by these points.
- The blurb for Japanese Volume 1 (Feb 12, 2021) already mentions Chiikawa’s beloved Hachiware and Usagi.
- The earliest anime episode with Usagi in the title is Ep. 20 「うさぎの手」 (Aug 12, 2022). Usagi appears in earlier episodes too.
