What is the Pajama Parties Arc about? (no spoilers)

The pajamas at Pochette Yoroi-san’s stall keep selling out. Those who finally get a pair gather in a field in matching pajamas, a song is born, and the group starts performing in front of others, until an invitation to a big event arrives.

• As the show nears, the group runs short of members. Usagi volunteers, and Chiikawa and Hachiware step onto a stage for the first time as stand-ins.
• Not everything goes well, and everyone keeps practicing for the next, bigger stage: the “Mucha Fes” (むちゃフェス).
• Kodansha’s description of Volume 4 says Chiikawa and friends try to protect the group’s stage in their place. What happens on the festival day is best found in the comic or the anime.

Who are the Pajama Parties?

A group of four who sing and dance in pajamas made by Pochette Yoroi-san, as the official anime character page puts it. They are called by the colors of their pajamas: green, pink, white and purple.

• Who is inside the pajamas, the four members’ names, and how they met have not been revealed, as of October 2026.
• Their faces are drawn gray without eyes or mouths, the way unnamed residents of Chiikawa’s world are usually drawn. Seeing those background characters take the lead is part of the arc’s charm.
• On Feb 23, 2024, the day episode 144 aired, the song “Pajama Parties no Uta” was released.

Which volume and which anime episodes?

The Pajama Parties Arc is collected in Volume 4 of the Japanese books (Kodansha). In the anime it is episodes 144 to 155, titled “Pajama Parties 1” to “Pajama Parties 12”.

• Volume 4 was released on Jul 22, 2022.
• The episodes aired in Japan from Feb 23, 2024 to Apr 2, 2024, on Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi TV”.
• Before the group gets its name, the pajamas themselves appear in episode 127 “Popular Pajamas” and episode 133.
