Where is Chiikawa Land in Tokyo Station?

It is on the B1 (first basement) floor of Tokyo Station Ichibangai, a shopping area inside Tokyo Station, in the section called Tokyo Character Street.

  • Tokyo Character Street is a strip of character shops, including stores run by Japanese TV networks. Chiikawa Land is one of them.
  • Tokyo Station Ichibangai describes it as the official goods shop for the popular character Chiikawa.
  • Signs in the station may show the Japanese names: 東京駅一番街 (Tokyo Station Ichibangai) and 東京キャラクターストリート (Tokyo Character Street).

How to get there from the trains

Exit the JR gates on the Yaesu (八重洲) side. Tokyo Station Ichibangai says it is right outside the Yaesu Underground Central Exit, and just past any Yaesu-side gate from both the Shinkansen and regular JR lines.

  • The shop is outside the ticket gates, so you need to exit them first. You don’t need a train ticket to shop there.
  • Tokyo Station has two very different sides: Marunouchi (丸の内) and Yaesu (八重洲). Follow the signs to Yaesu before you go through the gates. If you come out on the Marunouchi side, you face a long walk around.
  • Tokyo Station is big and busy. Allow extra time to walk from the platform, especially when you have luggage.
  • Ichibangai’s access page only describes the JR gates. If you arrive by subway, head for the Yaesu side and follow the signs to Tokyo Station Ichibangai.

Opening hours and payment

The shop is open 10:00–20:30, according to the Tokyo Station Ichibangai shop guide. Hours can change, so check the Ichibangai website for the latest.

  • Payment: cash, credit cards, e-money and QR code payments, per the shop guide. It does not list which card brands, IC cards or QR apps are accepted.
  • All times are Japan time (JST, UTC+9).

Do you need a reservation?

Usually not; you can just walk in. On days when popular new items go on sale, or on busy holidays, entry can switch to reservations through the LINE app (often by lottery) or to numbered tickets (整理券).

  • Changes are announced each time on the official Chiikawa Land X account (@chiikawa_land) and the official Chiikawa Land LINE account, in Japanese.
  • On reservation days, sometimes only the area with the new items has timed entry. Read the post for the date you plan to visit.
  • Purchase limits change by product and day, and are posted as images on the official accounts.
  • We have not confirmed whether the LINE lottery accepts overseas phone numbers, so check before you count on it.
  • Useful Japanese words in the posts: 入店予約 (entry reservation), 抽選 (lottery), 先着 (first come, first served), 整理券 (numbered ticket), 購入制限 (purchase limit).

Tips before you go

Check three things on the day: the entry method, the purchase limits for what you want, and the hours.

  • Because it is outside the gates, you can shop before or after your Shinkansen. But all of Tokyo Character Street gets crowded, so don’t try to squeeze it in right before your train leaves.
  • Items sold only at this shop, or released here first, are announced on the official Chiikawa Land X. Search for posts mentioning "TOKYO Station".
  • Tokyo has other Chiikawa Land stores (Harajuku, Shinjuku, Solamachi, Ikebukuro PARCO). They are in different parts of the city, so plan on two areas a day at most.
  • Chiifan is an unofficial fan site and did not visit the shop for this guide; the facts come from official pages.
