Hachiware keeps a light-blue ribbon tied to a vase at home. It came from a bag of cookies Chiikawa gave as a congratulations gift, and when the Yoroi-san (three people in armor) stop by to shelter from the rain and praise it, Hachiware is overjoyed. Read the Praise Ribbon Arc in order

Our Japanese page shows all 15 of Nagano’s posts for this arc as X embeds, in posting order. The reading page is in Japanese, but you only need to scroll: Nagano’s X posts are lined up from top to bottom in order, and on longer arcs the 「次のページ」 (Next page) button at the bottom takes you on.

  • 15 is the number of Nagano’s posts we collected, not an official episode count.
  • The first 2 posts, from October 2020, show where the ribbon came from. The main story followed about nine months later, from Aug 4, 2021, and the last post came on Oct 18, 2021.

What is the Praise Ribbon Arc about? (no spoilers)

To celebrate Hachiware passing level 5 of the Weeding Exam, Chiikawa gives Hachiware a cat-shaped cookie. The light-blue ribbon that tied the bag later ends up on a vase in Hachiware’s home.

  • On a day of heavy rain, the Yoroi-san come in to shelter and praise the ribbon. Hachiware is so happy that Chiikawa and Usagi hear all about it too.
  • Then, one morning during cleaning, something happens that shakes Hachiware deeply.
  • Hachiware ends up with something hard to say, and opens up to Chiikawa after finding a cookie shop at the morning market. What becomes of the ribbon, we leave to the posts.

Why does the ribbon matter so much?

The first two posts answer that: the ribbon is the memory of Chiikawa choosing a cookie for Hachiware. When the Yoroi-san praise it, Hachiware is as happy as if Hachiware had been praised.

  • When Hachiware tied the ribbon to the vase is not shown in this arc; the gap between the first two posts and the main story is not drawn.
  • Whether the Yoroi-san ever learn what happens to the ribbon is not shown either. They do not appear again in this arc after the day they praise it.

Which anime episodes?

Episodes 160 to 164 carry the title “Homerare Ribbon 1” to “Homerare Ribbon 5”.

  • The scene photo for episode 160 matches post 6 of the original (posted Aug 8, 2021).
  • The official anime site does not list which original posts each episode covers, so the scenes before that post may be in earlier episodes with other titles.
  • We have only checked the broadcast in Japan.
