Read the Big Tobatsu Arc in order

Our Japanese page lines up all 13 of Nagano’s posts for this arc as X embeds, in posting order. The reading page is in Japanese, but you only need to scroll: Nagano’s X posts are lined up from top to bottom in order, and on longer arcs the 「次のページ」 (Next page) button at the bottom takes you on.

  • 13 is the number of Nagano’s posts we collected, not an official episode count.
  • The posts came out over about ten months, with other everyday strips in between. Reading them together makes it easier to see how the separate threads link up.

What is the Big Tobatsu Arc about? (no spoilers)

It begins as two small everyday threads. Pochette Yoroi-san’s new pajamas keep selling out, and a regular customer sends a happy letter. Meanwhile, Chiikawa works a sticker-pasting job and starts to notice the office snack box and the kid at the next seat.

  • Then Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi are carried through the sky to hunt a huge opponent. Chiikawa is so nervous that tears come, and Hachiware offers some words of support.
  • In the forest, Usagi gets a big moment protecting the others. The arc closes with a day back at work and two strips deep in the forest.
  • How the hunt ends, and how the separate threads connect, we leave to the comic and the anime.

What does “tobatsu” mean, and who is Anoko?

“Tobatsu” (討伐) is one of the jobs Chiikawa and friends do to make a living: fighting dangerous creatures. Because it is risky, it is said to pay well. In this arc, Chiikawa and Hachiware carry sasumata, forked poles used as weapons.

  • “Anoko” (“that child”), the white creature with a small horn, appears in this arc. In the anime, Anoko first shows up in episode 130, “Okkii Tobatsu 2.”
  • Who or what Anoko really is has not been revealed, as of October 2026. Fans have their own readings, but nothing in the story confirms them.
